Abandoned vehicles cause Penryn car park crackdown
9:00am Thursday 22nd August 2013 in Cornwall
Penryn Town Council has decided to make "important changes" at Permarin car park due to problems with abandoned cars.
A spokesman said that with effect from Monday, September 2, terms and conditions of use will be introduced in "an attempt to address the current problems with abandoned cars and obstruction of the areas outside of the parking bays".
The full terms and conditions include
- All vehicles must be parked in marked bays.
- All vehicles must have a valid tax disc.
- The shoppers' spaces above the top right hand corner of the car park will have a two-hour restriction.
The spokesman added: "The enforcement of these terms and conditions will be carried out by the town council's contractor, Armtrac Security Services. If you have an access through the car park to your property, either by way of a gateway or garage, you can apply to the Town Council for a permit for temporary parking to allow you to be able to load/unload, wash the car etc.
"To apply, visit the Town Council offices, bringing your V5 Certificate and a household bill. Permits will allow you to park outside of the parking bays for up to two hours at any one time and are free of charge."
