Homes plan for farmland on Bickland Water Road
7:00am Monday 19th August 2013 in Cornwall
More houses are being planned for Bickland Water Road and residents of both Falmouth and Budock are being invited to attend a public consultation event early next month.
Midas Commercial Developments Ltd is behind the plans for 150 homes and has entered into pre-planning application consultations ahead of a formal application being submitted.
Business Location Services Ltd is acting on behalf of the developer and has approached Budock Parish Council.
In a letter, managing director Russell Dodge, said: “The proposal is to develop some 3.79 ha of land to the west of Bickland Water Road on the western edge of Falmouth for some 150 dwellings (both open market and affordable).”
The land in question is two fields opposite Falmouth Business Park and next to where Midas won permission to build industrial units. It also borders land which has been earmarked by Falmouth Town Council as an extension to the town cemetery.
Midas is holding its public consultation event at Falmouth Football Club on September 2 between 2pm and 7pm. Members of both Budock and Falmouth councils have been invited to a private presentation of the plans immediately ahead of the public being admitted.
