There was a medley of entertainment when Mullion School held its annual fundraiser.

More than 350 turned out to support the school for its Midsummer Medley event on Sunday, which included a mix of familiar stalls seen in previous years as well as a range of new ones.

They sold everything from food, bags and toys through to knitted goods, jewellery and hand painted furniture.

The Lizard 2000 group manned a |barbecue, while the Mullion School Association ran a stall selling cakes,|bric-a-brac, books and DVDs.

Activities included a tombola, sports and magic from Ian Laidlaw.

One of the most popular draws was the| talent show, which saw students taking to the stage to compete against each other.

Watched by parents and visitors, who commented on the high quality of talent, the audience were able to vote for the best.

This resulted in Tegen Pascoe, Waide Cattell and Joe Welch being named the|winners, taking away the top cash prize of £50.

In second place was Freddie Thorp who won £30 and in third place was Rebekkah and the Pound Notes, who won £20.

The prize money was donated by Peter and Judy Evans.

There was also a grand draw, with the top prize of £100 being won by the McCormick family.

R Stevens from St Keverne took the second prize of a scuba diving experience for two, Mrs J Gomez won a voucher for Country Skittles, Codi Grant took two |half-day vouchers with Lizard Outdoor Adventure, S Stephens from Ruan Minor walked away with two tickets for The Pitmen Painters at the Hall for Cornwall and Timmy Pascoe won Sunday roast for two at the Mounts Bay in Mullion.

Sue Bennett and Ben Merritt shared the spoils for the ‘guess the weight of the pasty’ competition, while Talia Sealey sold most tickets – an impressive 12 books.

The school has thanked all the |stallholders and demonstrators who |attended, along with everyone who helped in the preparation of the event and on the day.

These included Penrose Judo Club and Truro Fencing Club for running| demonstrations and giving youngsters the opportunity of joining in, as well as Roskilly’s for donating ice cream.
