UPDATE: The vehicle which collided with the pedestrian was a blue Citroen C4.

The injured Camborne woman, who is in her seventies, remains in a serious condition in Treliske Hospital.
During the incident two unattended cars, a Toyota Corolla and a Citroen Xsara were also damaged.

 

UPDATE: Trelowarren Street was closed at the junction of Fore Street and Basset Road but has now reopened.

Reports are that the woman was thrown through a betting shop window.

A pedestrian has suffered leg injuries following a crash on Trelowarren Street in Camborne this morning.

The road has been closed and drivers should avoid the area for the time being.

Police have confirmed they were called to Camborne town centre this morning following the collision just after 9.45am.

A spokesman said that a Citroen vehicle collided with a pedestrian and a shop window.

"The female pedestrian suffered serious leg injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital. The male driver of the car was treated for shock."

"Trelowarren Street is closed at the junction of Fore Street and Basset Road. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the collision and at this stage it is not clear if further vehicles were involved in the incident."

A fire service spokesman said one fire appliance and the rescue tender from Camborne Community Fire Station attended, after an initial report of a person trapped under a car.

However when firefighters arrived they confirmed that the person was not trapped and they assisted ambulance and police at the scene.
