The sole survivor of a car wreck caused by the horror smash in Penryn this week has paid tribute to his wife, who died in the crash.

Nigel Toy, aged 65, was a passenger in his friend’s BMW 3-series when it was struck by a tipper lorry at the junction of Brown’s Hill and the B3292 on Wednesday:

Managers with up to 20 years experience are under threat of redundancy from A&P.

The Packet has learnt that “seven or eight” area manager and technical manager positions at Falmouth Docks no longer exist.

Plans to develop fields on the outskirts of Falmouth, covering them with up to 300 houses, were described as “medieval pillaging” at a meeting where the outline scheme was approved.

Three fire engines and a water carrier were scrambled to a hut fire on Pendennis Headland at the weekend amid fears that somebody might be trapped inside.

The parents of a woman trampled by a cow that was protecting a young calf are hoping for a change in legislation to prevent a similar mishap befalling another family.

Tesco in Helston has applied to build a “customer collection pod” to allow its Click and Collect service to finally go ahead.

The churchyard of Helston’s parish church of St Michael’s is the latest area to be tackled by the Town Tidy Team.

Volunteers were out in force armed with a large supply of black plastic refuse sacks and wheelbarrows to rid the churchyard of moss and weeds, repaint chipped handrails and clear up litter.

Advertising could soon be on display in St Keverne’s public toilets in a bid to boost funds. 

The parish council is looking into giving local business the chance to promote themselves, in return for a fee.

Walking a route through Penrose Woods, children and their parents took to the footpath for a sponsored woodland walk in aid of Cancer Research UK recently.

The day proved a success and a "great way" to get the children involved with fundraising for the charity, a spokesperson said:
