Tregullow at Scorrier, described as a “truly secret garden” will be open to the public for the only time this year on May 6 in support of the Missions to Seafarers in Falmouth.
Spread over 20 acres and laid out in the mid-19th century, the garden was lost for generations and only rediscovered in the late 1970s.
It has since been restored and revived and now boasts classical wall gardens, yew walks and bowers.
It also claims to have the the largest known rhododendron in Cornwall.
Tregullow Garden will be open between noon and 5pm and entry will cost £3.50. Cream teas and Victoria sponge will be available from 2.30pm.
There will also be a Mission to Seafarers’ stall and a chance to talk to volunteers about the work of the Flying Angel Centre located within Falmouth Docks.
