Crematorium staff raise £1,330 for Children’s Hospice South West

Staff from Penmount Crematorium have raised £1,330 for Children’s Hospice South West after a year of fundraising for the charity.

Each year the group nominate a local charity to benefit from a number of fundraising events held at Penmount including the annual open day in June and a carol service, as well donations collected during December.

Susan Cannan, Cornwall Council’s Bereavement Services Manager, presented the cheque to Mary Murfin from Children’s Hospice South West.

Susan said: “We would like to thank all those who have so kindly contributed to our appeal in 2012 and I would also like to thank the staff for their efforts in assisting with the fundraising activities.”

Penmount staff have chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as their charity for 2013.
