Garden waste collection scheme reminder

With Spring fast approaching and thoughts turning to gardening, Cornwall Council is reminding residents to renew their subscription or register for the garden waste collection scheme.

The service is a fortnightly kerbside collection for grass cuttings, leaves, tree prunings and dead flowers and plants. Simply gather up the clippings and prunings, place them in the brown wheelie bin or sack, with the permit attached, and it will be taken away and composted.

People who bought a bin or sack last year will only need to renew the permit. New subscribers will need to purchase both the container and the permit.

The new subscription year starts from 1 April, so to guarantee receiving everything before the first collection, please contact us before 28 February 2013 on 0300 1234 141 or visit www.cornwall.gov.uk/gardenwaste.

Is there a safeguard in place to prevent someone from stealing a permit from someone else's bin, if the permits are registered to individual address's and therefore traceable then why does one need to attach it to the bin.
