A male motorcyclist died yesterday after colliding with a lorry in Carnon Downs.

Emergency services were called to the scene, on Bissoe Road, at 3.25pm.

A fire engine from Truro, rescue tender from Camborne, the police and ambulance service were all in attendance.

The road, which runs between Carnon Downs and Bissoe, was closed for approximately eight hours following the smash.

The man's family have been informed, but formal identification has yet to take place.

An appeal has been launched by the police and any witnesses are urged to contact them on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 493 of 26/01/13.
