Missing man search extended to Newquay after abandoned car found

Police officers on the hunt for a missing Yorkshireman are focusing their efforts on Newquay after his car was found in the town.

Michael Whitham went missing from his home in Reeth, North Yorkshire earlier this month and his car, a blue Nissan Navara pick-up, was found in the Albany Road car park at 11am on Monday, January 14.

Michael, aged 32, is described as white, of slim build with short, brown, spiked hair, brown eyes, and has a number of tattoos on his forearms.

DC Steve Applewhite, from Newquay CID, said: "Officers are concerned for Michael's welfare and urge anyone who has seen him either on the morning of Monday January 14 or since then to get in touch with police."

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the police on non-emergency number 101 quoting log 293 of 14/01/13.
