Members of the public can soon have a first look at proposals for dualling the A30 at Temple.

There will also be an exhibition at Blisland Village Hall on Thursday, January 10 and Friday, January 11 with a computer generated ‘fly through’ and images of the planned route on display.

Cornwall Council was given the green light to proceed with proposals to dual the three mile stretch of the A30 between Temple and Higher Carblake, after the Government confirmed it would put £30m into the scheme.

The Council will match this funding, as well as finance all the preparatory costs of delivering the scheme on behalf of the Highways Agency. The innovative scheme has been designed by CORMAC Solutions Ltd, the Council’s highways service provider.

Initial discussions with local residents and interested parties has helped inform the current design – now as part of the official consultation process, the exhibition will give members of the public an opportunity to view the latest designs and have their say.

“It is really important that people get involved in this consultation process and I look forward to meeting them at the exhibition,” said Councillor Bert Biscoe, Cornwall Council portfolio holder for transportation, highways and environment. “We would very much like to get as many people involved as possible – it’s your moor, your road.”

“I hope everyone is able to attend the exhibitions,” said Councillor Mick Martin, Cornwall Council local Member for Lanivet. “And if you can’t make either exhibition, there is still the opportunity to have your say – so please do.”

The exhibition which will be open between 10.30am and 8pm on Thursday, January 10 and between 8am and 8pm on Friday, January 11.
