A NIGHT of entertainment comes to the Old Cattle Market in Helston on Saturday, November 17. The evening, hosted by Nare Point Coastwatch, aims to raise money for the charity, which is run by volunteers throughout the year providing a safety watch for seafarers and walkers.
The lookout station, which is located at the mouth of the Helford, mans the area between Gillan and Porthallow with a 270-degree field of view from the Manacles in the south, right round to Falmouth Bay, as well as the entrance to the Helford and Gillan Creek to the west. All incidents are then reported to the Falmouth Coastguard.
Johnny Cowling, the popular local comedian and singer, will be performing in Helston with doors opening at 7pm. Tickets are £10 and include a pasty, and there will be a cash bar available, with the concert starting at 8pm.
The lookout station is self-funded and the concert will raise funds for essential repairs and improvements. Tickets are available from Dales Butchers, Sue’s Salon and Absolutely Necessary Tearoom in Helston, or by calling 01326 572110 or 01326 231668.
