PROFESSIONAL illustrator James Cottell will be at the Ilminster Arts Centre next week to give youngsters a workshop in cartoon drawing.
James will focus on characterisation where children can learn to create their own cartoon characters such as a superhero or a fairy.
There will be two workshops on Wednesday, October 31, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. It will cost £7.50 per child per session and is suitable for youngsters aged between eight and 14.
The half-term fun at the arts centre kicks-off on Tuesday, October 30, when another children’s workshop is held entitled Willow and Tissue Hangings for Christmas.
Carol Cooke will lead the workshop where she will show children how to use willow and tissue paper to create Christmas decorations.
This will take place from 10am to noon and cost £5 per child. The workshop will be suitable for children aged five to 12, although those aged under-eight must be accompanied by an adult.
Advance booking for both workshops is required – phone 01460-54973.
