IT threatened rain but in the event just about held off for a dazzling Chard Carnival procession this evening.

The crowds waited patiently and were rewarded with some superb costumes, fantastic floats, dazzling dance routines and, of course, the odd giggle from the entries.

A year of work by performers and their supporters was well worth it as appreciative crowds clapped their approval.

Among the crowd favourites were Race Time, Starlight Express by Gemini, Arctic Attack by Club 2000 and Moscow by Eclipse CC.
