Goalmouth incident in Taunton

The scene at the end of Winchester Street this morning
CYCLIST commuters in Taunton found that someone had literally moved the goalposts this morning.
The goalpost, at the junction of Winchester Street and Eastbourne Terrace is surrounded by police tape suggesting someone may eventually pay the penalty for the goalmouth incident.
Said one cyclist: "Someone has certainly been thinking outside the box."
A spokesman for Taunton Deane Council, which manages the town's parks, said: "We can confirm the goalposts were taken from Victoria Park. The council informed the police who have given permission for them to be retrieved later today, which we will do."
