REVELLERS flocked to Dulverton on a dry, clear and cold Saturday night for this year’s carnival.

Ten floats took part in the parade and the Bristol Samba Band led the procession.

Almost £1,000 was given to collection tins during the only night-time carnival in West Somerset.

Keith Ross, one of the organisers, said: “It went very well and was a lovely evening.

We had more floats than last year but the number of people in the streets was down slightly, which was reflected in the amount collected.

“However, we are still very grateful to all who gave to help cover our expenses. The Bristol Samba band was fantastic and everyone was dancing to the rhythm.

“Overall, the carnival was as successful as ever and we were very lucky with the weather.”

The four-strong committee is inviting new members to join to bring new ideas and reinvigorate it for next year.
