FAMILY and friends of a young couple who died in a car crash will remember them at a joint funeral service tomorrow (October 12).

Sophie Lack, 19, and Luke Porter, 22, both of Bridgwater, were killed in a collision on the A38 at Thurloxton on Sunday last week.

Police say they were in a Vauxhall Astra heading from Bridgwater to Taunton which lost control and hit a tree.

At their funeral service at St Mary’s Church, which starts at 11am, mourners will be invited to wear an item of red clothing to remember Luke, and an item of pink to remember Sophie.

Sophie’s family said she was a loving daughter, step-daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter and cousin.

In a statement, they said: “Sophie will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

“She was a bubbly, kind and loving person who cared about everything and everyone.”

Luke’s parents, Patricia Jenkins and Andrew Porter, said he was a loving son and a loving brother to Kirsty.

Luke and Sophie worked at Robert Wiseman Dairies in Bridgwater, and a company spokesman said their loss had shocked everybody at the factory.

Tributes to the couple have continued to pour in on Facebook.

Chaz Salter wrote: “Sophi - when god reached out and took you, he took a part of me too!”

Katie Webber wrote: “RIP to u both, we are all going to miss u both and I love u Luke.”
