THE Wiveliscombe-based High Park Community Music Project is again opening its doors to a new intake of enthusiastic youngsters to learn and play in the beginners’ band.
This term, children from Oake, West Buckland and Milverton primary schools are taking the opportunity to learn for only £2 a week on Saturday mornings at the Silver Street Centre, Wiveliscombe.
The project is going from strength to strength with the The High Park Heros giving their first performance this month at Wiveliscombe Carnival, and they will be joined by their newcomers for a Rotary Club supper performance in October.
Revenue from recycled textiles enables the project to provide instruments for every child – so far this year it has collected 1.3 tons.
