Stop Smoking advisers in the town centre
SHOPPERS are being given tips on giving up smoking this month.
Health experts were in Taunton on Saturday as part of the Department of Health Stoptober initiative.
They offered information and advice about quitting and suggested how friends, relatives and workmates could play their part in helping.
Sara Dove, from the Somerset Stop Smoking Service, said: “Many people stopped to ask for advice about how they could either quit smoking or find out how best to encourage someone in their family to quit.
“If you can stop smoking for 28 days, you’re five times more likely to stay smokefree, and Stoptober leads smokers through a detailed step-by-step programme to help them achieve this goal.”
