Barn fire in Spaxton takes several crews to control

A BARN full of hay bales caught fire at a farm in Spaxton today.
Three fire engines from Bridgwater and Nether Stowey were sent to Merlyns Farm in Tuxwell Road to find the fire was next to several buildings.
Crews called for more fire engines from Taunton and Wiveliscombe and a water bowser from Bridgwater to help put it out.
About 100 tonnes of hay were alight and 50 bales were taken to an open field to be damped down.
The fire was caused accidentally.
