Marathon runner Jackie wants the World Majors

MARATHON runner Jackie Wiggins has set her sights on becoming a member of an exclusive running club.

Jackie, of Chard, completed the Berlin Marathon on Sunday in just under four hours and came 1,996th overall – a fantastic achievement considering 40,000 runners lined up at the start.

“I had an amazing time, and seriously enjoyed every step of the 26 miles and 385 yards,” she said.

“The organisers reckoned there were one million people lining the streets with 80 bands playing different kinds of music from the blues to samba.”

“We finished by running through the Brandenburg Gate, which was without question the highlight of the day, especially as there was free beer at the end, alcohol-free, of course!”

Jackie has now completed three of the five big marathons on the world scene – London, New York and Berlin.

“I just have the marathons at Chicago and Boston to do, and I’d have completed the world majors!” she said.

Jackie thanks all her family, friends, and staff and members at Phoenix Fitness in Chard, for their support.
