Burnham Specsavers improving sight in Africa
STAFF and customers at an opticians in Burnham are helping people in Africa see better.
Specsavers, in High Street, has donated a visual fields screener to the charity Vision Aid Overseas. Customers have also donated 500 pairs of unwanted glasses.
The items will be sent to poverty-stricken countries.
Rama Venkat, store director at Specsavers in Burnham, said: “Hopefully the screener along with the hundreds of pairs of specs will make a difference. We would like to thank everyone who has made a donation.
“We'll continue to collect specs for VAO so would like to urge anyone with any unwanted glasses to drop them into our collection box in-store.”
