Woman rescued from water-logged ditch in Minehead

A WOMAN was rescued from a water-filled ditch at Minehead Golf Course this morning (September 29).

A fire team from Minehead rushed to the scene at around 6am this morning to assist with ambulance crews in locating and recovering the woman, who had been injured.

On arriving, crews found her trapped in a water-logged ditch unable to get out.

A further fire engine from Minehead and a specialist water rescue team from Barnstaple, were also called to the scene, where crews used dry suits and a ladder to reach the woman.

She was freed and duty of care was left with the ambulance team.
