Wellington gearing up for carnival Wellington gearing up for carnival

FLASHING lights, great entertainment and plenty of smiling faces mean only one thing...carnival season!

Wellington comes alive on tomorrow (September 29) with its 125th showpiece.

Food and gift stalls, and street entertainment, will provide fun for all the family before the procession starts at Golden Hill Pet Supplies in Rockwell Green at 7.30pm.

Around 50 floats will snake up Mantle Street, Fore Street and the town centre, finishing at the Priory end of Wellington.

Exeter Road, at the Perry Elm roundabout to its junction with Bagley Road, will close from 2pm to allow the procession to assemble.

Other road closures will start in stages at 6.45pm to 7.15pm, including Mantle Street, Fore Street, High Street and Taunton Road through to Chelston.
