Talk on Henry VII

DR Thomas Penn will visit Dillington House on Sunday, September 30, to give a talk about the story of the tragic, magnetic figure of Henry VII and the dawn of Tudor England.

Described by Sir Francis Bacon as “a dark prince, and infinitely suspicious”, Henry VII was paranoid and avaricious with Machiavellian charm.

Dr Penn, editorial director at Penguin Books UK, will tell the story of how cunning plans and brilliance brought Henry to the throne.

The talk starts at 2.30pm and tickets cost £12 to include tea and cake. Pre-booked carvery lunches are available at £17.
