A is for Apple

THE humble apple will be celebrated again next month in a day of events, following the success of Apple Day last year.

The event on Friday, October 19, will include tastings, apple printing, apple peeling competition, juicing demos at 11am and 3pm, and poems by James Crowden in the cafe at 4pm.

Julian Temperley, of Burrow Hill Cider Brandy Co, will give a talk from 7.30pm at the Millennium Hall entitled Maturing the Spirit, focusing on the revival of cider brandy in Somerset.

Tickets for the talk cost £5 (£3 under-16s) and are available from Seavington Store and Café or N&D News in South Petherton.

The event will raise funds for improvements to the village shop and cafe.
