Brainwave accolade for Joseph, 12
7:30pm Thursday 20th September 2012 in News
A BOY who volunteers for a Bridgwater children’s charity has been presented with a certificate for his efforts in raising almost £300 for the cause.
Joseph Wigley, aged 12, of Combwich, tends to Brainwave’s sensory garden with his family and has raised a total of £259.56 by working hard to come up with exciting ideas on how to benefit the children.
Over the last two years Joseph has collected at the Bridgwater Carnival, sold lavender bags and given a talk at a Coffee Morning.
Paul Smith, South West Community Fundraiser said: “We are delighted with the fundraising efforts of Joseph during our 30th anniversary year.
“He has also shown great support for Brainwave in many ways and we hope that he will continue to help support and fundraise for us.”
The sensory garden allows children and parents the fun of exploring a range of different smells and sights whilst also providing opportunities to challenge the older, more physically able child, with obstacles to stimulate co-ordination and confidence.
