OUR Paralympic golden girl Debbie Criddle says she still finds having a golden postbox in her village very surreal.

Para dressage star Debbie, who picked up gold in the team event and two silvers in the individual Grade III events, visited Trull’s postbox this week as she wound down from a memorable London Games.

She said: “It still doesn’t seem real and hasn’t sunk in that the postbox is for me – I keep passing it thinking that should be red.

“I understand a lot of people have been to visit it and the support from everyone has been amazing, I could not have done it without the people behind me.

“I’ve not looked too much at Rio in 2016 yet as anything can happen in four years and it’s a long time in the career of a horse because he is the second athlete we have to look after.”

Debbie’s mount, Akilles, is back training next week and she will look ahead to competitions towards the end of the year and the European Championships next summer.
