SMILES could be seen all round as Chard’s Somerset County Council representative Cllr Jenny Kenton cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony of @ The Unit on Chard Business Park.
The indoor hire venue has opened following six months of hard work by a team of volunteers with the aim of providing a safe, inviting and affordable meeting venue for families, groups and businesses.
Chairman Nina Anderson said: “We’re a not-for-profit organisation, which means that any surplus funds will|be re-invested to make improvements.”
A 2,800sq ft matted leisure area is available at @ The Unit and is ideal for fitness classes, bouncy castle parties and corporate hire.
Nina added: “If there are events you would like provided, please get in touch to discuss your requirements. “It’s all run by a group of volunteers who are here to help in any way they can.”
