Paralympians parade proposals backed by Taunton Deane councillor Justine Baker
PARALYMPICS medal winners Deb Criddle and Lucy Shuker should be honoured with a parade through Taunton , district councillor Justine Baker has proposed.
Taunton Deane Council has agreed to celebrate their success, although they haven't finalised the details yet.
Mrs Baker said: “By having a parade schools would be able to be part of it by watching and getting involved to support the 'inspire a generation' legacy.”
Para dressage star Debbie who picked up gold in the team event and two silvers in the individual Grade III events said it was nice that the council have backed these proposals.
Speaking from her Trull home, she added: “There has been so much support in the county and good wishes from friends, neigh¬bours and people I didn't even know, so thank you to you all.”
Our Olympians and Paralympians were involved in the London Victory Parade on Monday as thousands lined the streets to celebrate theirs and all the country's participants.
And plenty of West Country athletes were continuing the celebrations in Bath for a parade yesterday.
