A SECOND athlete from Taunton Deane will bring home a Paralympic medal after winning bronze in the wheelchair tennis.

Lucy Shuker, 32, from Trull, won the doubles bronze medal match with fellow Brit Jordanne Whiley as they beat Thailand's Ratana Techamaneewat and Sakhorn Khanthasit 7-6, 6-7, 3-6 at Eton Manor yesterday (September 7).

Lucy, who trains at Blackbrook Pavilion in Taunton, told reporters after the match: "I'm speechless. We played so badly in the first set, we didn't play our game.

"I'm in disbelief at the moment that we came through and won that. I know Jordanne can fight back so I knew that we had a chance."
