THE inaugural Watchet dog show has proved a great success, with high attendance by residents and visitors alike.
The crowd was treated to enthusiastic displays in the 11 classes, with first and best in show in the pedigree class going to Leanna Coles’ springer spaniel Kara.
Sara Summers, of the organising committee, said: “We would like to thank Watchet Summertime and Williton Pet Care for their support, the judging team and the Watchet Town Councillors and people from the Watchet Dog Owners Forum who gave their free time to help with the event.
“We hope to hold this family event annually and, with the response we have had so far, it seems it would be welcomed.”
Proceeds from the day will be split between Watchet Sea Scouts, the Watchet Remembrance Project Group, Watchet Carnival and a small donation went to Watchet Summertime for staging the event.
