Roof beams of the new swimming pool reflect in the pool tank
A CRUCIAL step in the ongoing construction of the new pool at Trinity Sports and Leisure has been taking place over the last few weeks. A process known as water or flood testing has taken place to check the pools are ready for rendering and tiling.
Both pool tanks are filled to the brim with water and then left for around two weeks. The water level is monitored daily to check that there is not an unnatural amount lost (there is some natural loss through evaporation and permeation into the concrete of 3mm a day).
The partners involved in the pool project are pleased to say that the water testing has proved successful.
The photo below shows the pool ‘filled’ on the first day of testing in mid-August.
This is a crucial process in the facility build and will allow rendering and tiling of the pools to commence, knowing the screeding of concrete has been successful.
