Villagers' wonder show in Winsham

WINSHAM Horticultural Society’s annual show was hailed another great success despite the difficult growing season.
The show was held again in a marquee at Winsham Sports and Social Club, and cups were presented by Cllr Sue Osborne, of South Somerset District Council.
Show secretary Rita Burgess was delighted that the show attracted a lot of new exhibitors, and though she said entries were slightly down on last year the standard was as good and competitive as in previous years.
“I’d like to say a big thankyou to everyone who braved the weather to come and see the show,” she said.
“There was a nice selection of wellies, raincoats and umbrellas on show!
“I’d also like to thank all the committee for their time, effort and commitment before, during and after the show.”
