Saddling up for a good cause in Norton-sub-Hamdon

THE annual charity bike ride held from the Lord Nelson pub in Norton-sub-Hamdon has been another two-wheeled success.

Sixty-five cyclists set off from the pub last Sunday to support the Jump Up charity which raises funds for children and families with arthritis, and the Bristol-based hospital charity Above and Beyond.

The cyclists toured South Somerset before heading back to the LordNelson for a barbecue and live entertainment.

Among the cyclists was Yeovil Town FC assistant manager Terry Skiverton, who lives in Norton, and he was delighted to support the fundraising once again.

The event was organised by Matt Orchard, Nicola Brodie, Roy Warry and Dave Rogers and they have announced that it raised just under £1,500 for charity.
