PEOPLE at the Watchet LIVE Music Festival have praised the hard work put in by so many members of the community to help make it the success it has become.

Nick Cotter said: “We are great supporters of the Watchet Music Festival, we have been every year and we still camp.

“I don't think people realise how much work goes into it - people from the town help with so many parts of setting it up.

“We were involved with building the stage, putting three quarters of a mile of fencing up and sorting out the bar. People do it because they believe in the festival.”

Lorraine Taplin said: “It makes me proud to live in Watchet. For a little town, it is brilliant.

“Different people from the town come and help for free, because they want to. My husband James works at Hinkley Point and helped with the electrics.

“I think they need a big act to play here next year, not necessarily to make it bigger, just to give it a really local feel. Then you are putting local music on the map as well as the town.”

Lorraine Palmer said: “We just got a day ticket and came here today - we are here for The Wurzels and The Popes.

“This is the first time I have managed to come and now I want to keep coming back in the future. The atmosphere is lovely - it has been fantastic.”
