A ROYAL Marines Quarter Master from Taunton has been selected as one of the military contingent who will be raising the flags for the medal winners ceremonies at this year’s Paralympics.
Warrant Officer 2 Mark ‘Tigs’ Lenton, 44, is looking forward to taking part.
He said: “It is something I shall never forget, and to have my family watching me will make me very proud.”
Mark is now based in Devon with the Commando Logistics Regiment, and lives with his wife, Gillian, and three young daughters Emily, Jessica and Sophie.
Although completed tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Mark counts a two-month stint training in Brunei with 40 Commando in 1992 among his career highlights.
