A BRIDGWATER biker and his friend are doing a sponsored ride out for a malaria charity.
Adrian Clancy, from North Petherton, and Zsolt Varkonyi, from Weston, will set off from Glasgow on Sunday, August 19, to reach London on Monday, August 20, in a bid to raise cash for Malaria No More.
Adrian, 38, said: “I decided to do it after watching footage on sport relief of the damage and heartache malaria causes in Africa every day.
“Approx 1,800 people per day, mostly babies die from malaria, most of them in Africa.
“The disease is spread by Mosquitoes, which gather at stagnant pools of water.”
The pair will catch a ferry to Belfast, head down through Dublin and on to Rosslare harbour to catch a ferry to Pembroke.
They will travel from Pembroke past Swansea, Cardiff and Bristol before arriving in London on World Mosquito Day.
