A CLASSIC red phone box in Burrowbridge has been brought back to life by enterprising villagers.
The parish council has bought the box for £1 and given it a new life as a mini-library, where books can be donated as well as taken out.
Cllr David Fothergill, who has contributed some of his own books to the project, said: “This is a fantastic use for the old telephone box.
“Not only does it preserve an important part of the village appearance it also provides locals with a good opportunity to swap books for free.
“It may not be too long before cars travelling on the A361 also find out about the facility and pull over to swap.”
