Tatworth funding boost for Bliss charity

FUNDS for baby charity Bliss were boosted on Saturday with an evening of events at Tatworth Playing Fields.

The event was held in memory of one-month-old baby Melody Caitlyn Scott who died earlier this year after being born 14 weeks premature.

Her parents, John and Julz Scott, of Chard, want to do all they can now to help Bliss, a UK charity that works to provide the best possible care and support for premature and sick babies and their families.

Among the events on Saturday was a Moonwalk in which supporters were able to walk around the playing field between 8pm and 11pm for sponsorship. Top walker was Darren Marshall who completed 13k.

Other fundraisers included a barbecue, bouncy castle, children’s games and tombola.

Beauty therapist Natalie Britton waxed brave male souls, including Melody’s dad, John, his brother Iain and his dad Ian, and Rob Davis. While Simon Britton and Stephen Howard got in on the fundraising act scoffing as many hotdogs as they could in a 20-minute session.
