PATIENTS were invited to Highbridge Medical Centre this afternoon to see its sparkling new facilities.

The centre's brand new extension was officially unveiled by NHS Somerset chairman Jane Barrie.

Practice manager, Joanne Farnworth, said: “The new extension to the health centre means we are now able to provide many more services to our patients.

“We have added two treatment rooms and the overall extra space means we can be more versatility if we need to adapt for future service needs.“ Patients were able to tour the facilities and meet members of NHS Somerset's health promotion team, who were on hand to offer advice on everything from healthy diets and lifestyles to health checks and diabetic eye screening, to cancer awareness and sexual health.

Earlier this year, Highbridge Medical Centre established a Patient Participation Group, which is helping the surgery gather views and feedback on services from its 14,000 registered patients.
