Co-op supports groups in Crewkerne

SHOPPERS and customers at the Co-operative store and branch in Crewkerne have helped three local groups secure a share of £1,000.
The Co-op introduced a coin scheme at its food store in Falkland Square and the bank in Market Street and asked members to place a plastic disc in one of three collection boxes dedicated to different causes with the £1,000 prize fund being proportionately split between them.
More than 5,000 votes were cast in total with Somerset Sight taking top spot with 63 per cent of the votes to scoop £630. Crewkerne and District Museum and the Crewkerne Leisure Management shared the remaining votes and will receive £210 and £160 respectively.
