A COUPLE who used to live in Wiveliscombe have been killed in a fire.
Bob and Joan Rines, 61 and 76, died in a house fire in Filleigh, near South Molton, Devon, on Monday last week. Bob was born in Wiveliscombe, where his parents, Bill and Joyce, still live, and attended the town's primary school and Kingsmead Secondary Modern School.
Mother-of-five Joan used to live in Langley Marsh. The couple leave 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Bob used to play darts and skittles locally and cricket for Huish Champflower. He moved away in his 20s.
Bill Rines said: “We're devastated. Words can't express our feelings.”
The fire is not thought to be suspicious.
The couple's funeral is at Filleigh Church at 2pm next Wednesday.
