PEOPLE are being asked for information following an incident involving racial abuse in Yeovil.

Sometime between 5.25pm and 5.55pm on Sunday, June 17, a man was sitting on a bench at Yeovil bus station at the entrance to Glovers Walk when he was approached by an unknown man and subjected to racist abuse before being assaulted.

There were a number of people in the area at the time and police are particularly keen to speak to a man who is described as white, around 5ft 10inches to 5ft 11inches tall, of a slim build, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a brown jumper, blue jeans, and striped dark and white trainers and was carrying green holdall with a rope strap.

Officers are also keen to speak with another man who may have witnessed this incident, he is described as white, around 5ft 7inches, of a slim build with brown hair that was shorter on the sides.

He was wearing a blue hoody, a dark jacket tied around waist, blue jeans, and white trainers. He also walked with a limp.

Members of the public are also asked for information. Anyone who may be able to help is asked to call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
