A SIMPLE but innovative scheme run by a shop in Wheddon Cross has raised more than £200 for charity.

The Londis shop in the village has been charging 5p for carrier bags over the last four months and has given the cash to Dunkery Pre-School and children’s charity CLOWNS, which have both received cheques for £107.

Sheralee Matravers from Dunkery Pre-School and Kathy Morton from CLOWNS said: “We would both like to thank the Londis shop and everyone who has helped to raise this money."
