CHILDREN from a Highbridge school have been treated to a special visit from the Bishop of Taunton.
The Bishop, the Rt Rev Peter Maurice, visited students at East Brent First School as part of his tour of the area to meet the community.
The school will be the only primary school to be visited during the tour.
Nicola Hare, acting head teacher, said: “The children understand the concept of different religions so it was interesting for them to speak to an actual Bishop.
“They were invited to Westminster Abbey last year because they won a design for a standard carried during a procession. They loved it and thought it was just brilliant.”
All the children had a chance to meet the Bishop and he took the Year 3 and 4 children up the Knoll on an educational trip, where they sang hymns.
