WITH work to redevelop Taunton's Castle Green well underway, Ben Sykes thought fellow readers would enjoy this trip down memory lane.
The photos show a parade there in the summer of 1951 to mark the opening of the Festival of Britain.
The event featured members of local scouts and cadet forces, including King's College CCF, whose Officer Copmmanding, Major Allen, organised the day.
Mr Sykes, former head of modern languages and senior master at King's and a Major in the CCF, was shown the pictures at a meeting in London of King's Old Boys who were at the school in the 1940s and 50s.
