THE village hall committee has received an unexpected boost to its solar panel project in the form of a £2,000 cheque from the Co-operative Community Fund.
The committee has already had photovoltaic panels installed on the hall roof which are generating green electricity.
The hall has raised the funds for the project from a wide variety of village events and loans from villagers.
The additional funding from the Co-op will enable the village to pay back the loans at least two years ahead of schedule The panels will provide the hall with £1,500 per year for the next 25 years – a wonderful bonus for a village of just 60 houses with an expensive hall to maintain.
