Award for Mother Hen Kerry Way
KERRY Way, of Yeovil, is nicknamed Mother Hen, and was judged Highly Commended in the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards.
Her nominator said: “She looks after everyone around her and is the person who her fiends turn to first if they are in need. I have seen her counselling, mentoring and being a fantastic listener’.
Unfortunately she was recently made redundant, leaving her struggling financially but instead of doing nothing, she opted to improve her chances in life by enrolling on a course to become a youth worker.
She was also a carer for her mother who sadly passed away two years ago.
Her nomination adds: “Despite these challenges, she is a remarkable young woman who is always smiling and loving of others.”
