SEDGEMOOR District Council has frozen its proportion of council tax.
The decision was taken at a council meeting this afternoon which had been delayed from last week following a dispute with EDF Energy, the operators of Hinkley Point nuclear power station.
Bosses at the council said they needed to know whether EDF would pick up a £2.3million bill for scrutinising its application to build a new power plant at the site before setting the tax rate.
Although discussions have not yet been concluded, on Friday, February 24, the authority agreed to set its proportion of council tax at 0%, thereby freezing the rate.
